Mr. Henry Gaston Leverett of the Antioch Community, Coffee County, AL passed away Thursday, June 27, 2013 at his residence. He was 84. Funeral services for Henry Gaston Leverett will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 1, 2013 at Skeen Funeral Home Chapel in Troy with Dr. Mallone Chandler officiating. Burial will follow in Antioch Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, Coffee County, AL with Skeen Funeral Home of Troy directing. Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. Sunday, June 30, 2013 at Skeen Funeral Home, Troy. The family will also receive friends Monday from 10 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home prior to the service. Mr. Leverett was born August 21, 1928 in Coffee County, AL. to the late McAlra Leverett and Exia Mae Nelson Leverett. He had a love for Bluegrass, fishing and gardening but his bright joy in his life was his family. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother and a sister. He is survived by his wife of 65 years; Liz Leverett, Antioch Community; 3 daughters and sons-in-laws: Brenda (Bob) Spatz, TX; Phala (Derald) Gulledge, Glenwood, AL; and Leisa (Craig) Whetstine, Elba, AL; 9 grandchildren; Lisa Agler, Michael Scavone, Jayson Scavone, Amy Spatz, Sherry Bannin, Brett Scarbrough, Tommy Gulledge, Tina Zingre and Molly Shepard; and 17 great grandchildren. Serving as pallbearers will be Tim Finger, Doug Stephens, Timothy Johnson, Ryan Leverett, Billy Wayne Nelson, Chad Powell and Jason Faulk.
