Mrs. Barbara Lynne Kirkland of Troy, AL. passed away Sunday, October 20, 2013 at Troy Regional Medical Center. She was 61. Funeral services for Barbara Lynne Kirkland will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 23, 2013 at Skeen Funeral Home Chapel of Troy with Rev. Lavon Singleton and Rev. Earl Oakes officiating. Burial will follow at Sandfield Cemetery with Skeen Funeral Home of Troy directing. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 22, 2103 at Skeen Funeral Home of Troy. The family will also receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home prior to the service. She was born November 22, 1951 in Auburn, AL. daughter of William Foster Dease and Louise Singleton Dease. Mrs. Kirkland retired was an aircraft technician and she retired from Sikorsky after 23 years of service. She was preceded in death by her father. She is survived by mother: Louise S. Culpepper, Luverne, AL; brother: Michael Bruce Dease, Albany, GA; 2 aunts: Sybil Singleton (Farris), Hurtsboro, AL; and Doris Dease, Wetumpka, AL; dear friends: Lynn Wentworth, Troy, AL; Cynthia Hensley, Pensacola, FL; and Jo Farabaugh, Enterprise, AL. and a special dog Aubie.
