Mrs. H. M. Day (Elizabeth R.) of Troy and Palatka, FL died Thursday, June 4, 2015 at her home. She was 102. A memorial service will be held in Palatka, FL at a later date. She was born September 28, 1912 in Mt. Vernon, OH to the late Ralph P. and Florence Lucy Ransom. Her family moved to Florida when she was very young. She was a graduate of Stetson University in Deland FL. She was married to the late H. M. Day, a 2nd - generation U.S. Navy Chaplain. Mrs. Day was a loving wife, mother and was very active in her church. She served as president of several organizations including The Palatka Women's Club and was a energetic volunteer in charitable work. She is survived by her son, Dr. J. F. R. Day, who taught Shakespeare at Troy University for 27 years. She is also survived by her brother, Ralph Ransom and several nieces. Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord.
