Mrs. Jalane H. Murphy of Abbeville, AL passed away Thursday, July 16, 2015 at her residence. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, July 18, 2015 in the Abbeville Memorial Cemetery-East with Rev. Ray Reiley officiating, Skeen Funeral Home of Troy directing. The family will receive friends following the graveside services. Jalane was born April 6, 1952 in Ft. Gaines GA to the late Jean Cummings Holmes and W.F (Bill) Herring. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by a son, Buster Coker, a sister, Janice Barnes and a nephew, Hamilton "Hambone" Herring. She is survived by her husband: Mark Murphy, Abbeville; son: Tyler Murphy, Tallahassee, FL; sister, Ramona Flanagan (Kevin), Pinckard, AL; brother: West Herring; Abbeville; nieces: Jessica H. Walker, Abbeville, and Tracy H. Ellis (Travis), Bluffton, GA; nephew: William West "Billy" Herring, Auburn; father-in-law: Robert Holmes and a special friend Cindy Watford, both from Abbeville. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Henry County Veterans Memorial Park, Inc. c/o Elaine Kennedy, P.O. Box 115, Shorterville, AL 36373.
