Mrs. Maeola Kilpatrick Griffin of Troy, formerly of Valparaiso, Fl, passed away Monday, October 5, 2015 at the residence of her brother, Gary Kilpatrick, in Troy. She was 9l. Funeral services for Mrs. Maeola Griffin will be held at 2:00 pm, Thursday, October 8, 20l5 at Skeen Funeral Home Chapel in Troy with Pastor Chad Teal and Bereavement Coordinator, Jeff Peacock, officiating. Burial will follow in Wesley Chapel Cemetery with Skeen Funeral Home of Troy directing. Visitation will be held from 6-8 pm Wednesday, October 7, 20l5 at Skeen Funeral Home. The family will also receive friends at the funeral home Thursday from 1pm until service time. She was born in Banks, AL, April 2, 1924 to the late William Alto Kilpatrick and Minnie Lou Rogers Kilpatrick. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband Hubert Earl Griffin in 1998, nephews, Roger Kilpatrick and Lige Hester. She is survived by her brothers, Gary Kilpatrick (Georgia), Troy and Forest Kilpatrick (Jean), Longview, TX; sister, Mary Decker, Bryan, TX; nieces, Loretta Pate (Ralph), Red Oak, TX, Marie Pate (Nathan), Gordo, AL, Becky Kilpatrick, Troy, Tina Mireles (Zeke), Cheryl Garcia (Mike) and Janice Kamel (Arthur), all of Bryan TX, Eunice Reed (Henry) Ozark, AL, Juanita Wilkes (Gerald) and Faye Salter (Ed), both of Troy; nephews, Carl Cox (Linda), Bobby Cox, and John Decker all of Bryan, TX, Larry Kilpatrick (Pam), Troy and John Alton Kilpatrick (Brenda), Daphne, AL. The family wants to thank Gentiva Hospice workers, Jessie, Dianna, Chevaun, Yevette and Anika, Pastor Teal and Pastor Peacock for their care and compassion.
