Mrs. Octavia M. Ellis of Brundidge, AL passed away Tuesday, August 16, 2016 at Elba Nursing and Rehab Center in Elba. She was 89. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Friday, August 19, 2016 at Springfield Baptist Church with Rev. Wayne Northy and Rev. Don Ash officiating. Burial will follow in Springfield Baptist Church Cemetery with Skeen Funeral Home of Brundidge officiating. The family will receive friends Friday at the church from 10:00 am until service time. She was born March 19, 1927 in Randolph County, AL to the late Andrew Grady Mays and Eunice Alexander Mays. She was the last survivor of 8 children. In addition to her parents and siblings she was also preceded in death by a daughter, Faye Ellis and a great grandson Jeremy Frank Danner. She is survived by her daughters, Louise Danner (Franklin) and Brenda Lee (Jerry) all of Brundidge; grandchildren, Jeffery Frank Danner (Lori), Ashford, AL, Devin Ellis Danner (Amy), Elba, Toby Walker (Kelly), Albertville, AL, Payne Walker, Shalimar, FL, Amber Byrd (Jason), Huntsville, AL; step grandchildren, Cynthia Martin, Eufaula, AL, and Jay Taylor, Wetumpka, AL; great grandchildren, Haley Danner, Mobile, AL, Regan Austin Danner, Elba, Brody Walker and Logan Walker, Albertville, Donovan Walker and Garrett Walker, Shalimar, FL, and Gavin Donald and Jack Donald, Huntsville; step great grandchildren, Katie Culpepper (Cory) and Hunter Salter (Zachery) all of Eufaula, and Misty Taylor and Brittany Taylor both of Montgomery; and a great-great grandchild, Finley Walker, Albertville. Serving as pallbearers will be Jeff Danner, Devin Danner, Regan Danner, Payne Walker, Jason Byrd and Donnie Richards.
