Mr. Nathan Dwight "Mud Dog" Nelson of Troy passed away Wednesday, October 19, 2016, at Troy Regional Medical Center. He was 56. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, October 24, 2016, at Skeen Funeral Home Chapel in Troy with Rev. Loyd Hodge officiating. Burial will follow in Antioch Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery with Skeen Funeral Home of Troy directing. Visitation will be held from 6 pm until 8 pm Sunday, October 23, 2016, at Skeen Funeral Home in Troy. The family will also receive friends Monday at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. He was born in Troy July 31, 1960, to Archie Nelson and Mildred Harrelson Nelson. He was preceded in death by his father. He is survived by his daughters, Heather "Nelson" Reeves, Ocala, FL; Jenny "Nelson" Chestnut, and Kimberly Nelson both of Troy; his mother, Mildred Nelson, Troy; grandchildren, Emma Hataway, Troy; Blake Golden, Shane Duncan, Brittney Duncan, Jacob Chestnut and Kaylee Chestnut all of Troy; and Ava Hayden Duncan, Troy; a brother, Raymond Nelson, Troy; nieces, Misty Nelson, Jack; and Lindsey Jones, Luverne; and a nephew Shawn Nelson, Troy. Serving as pallbearers will be Dennis James, Tony Brown, Eddie Paramore, Tim Finger, David Finger and Travis Meeks.
