Obituary for Ada Thompson Danner

Mrs. Ada Thompson Danner of Springfield Community passed away Sunday, October 15, 2017. She was 97. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 17, 2017 at Springfield Baptist Church with Rev. Don Ash and Rev. Ben Amlong officiating. Burial will follow in Springfield Baptist Church Cemetery with Skeen Funeral Home of Troy directing. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until service time Tuesday at the church prior to the service. Mrs. Danner was born August 21, 1920 in Pike County AL to the late William Charlie Thompson and Lula Mae Davis Thompson. She was a very special person and played a special role in many people's lives. She was a special caregiver to many children in the community and many elderly people. Anyone in the general area at lunch time felt welcome to come in, sit down and have lunch with her. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband, James Franklin Danner, a son, James Needom Danner, sisters, Eunevae Chapman, Francis Adams, and Sara Lindsey, a brother, Carlton Flowers, and a grandson, Jeremy Danner. She is survived by her sons, Charles Franklin Danner (Louise) and Norris Danner (Brenda), all of Brundidge; a daughter, Rebecca Jackson (Tullis), Enterprise, AL; 7 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; brothers, Leon Flowers (Mary Virginia), Goshen; sisters, Lonice McClendon and Ann Shaw (Bill), all of Free Port, FL, and Betty Shiver (Winston), Jack, AL; and a sister-in-law, Barnie Rea Flowers, Brundidge. Serving as pallbearers will be Devin Danner, Jody Danner, Andy Danner, Buddy Garrett, Tyler Flowers and Lou Gallaway. Memorials may be made to the Springfield Baptist Church Cemetery Fund
