Mr. Bobby John Allen of Bainbridge, GA passed away at his residence Wednesday, April 24, 2013. He was 78. Funeral services for Bobby John Allen will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 26, 2013 at Skeen Funeral Home Chapel in Troy. Burial will follow at Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery in Bullock County, AL. with military honors conducted by Charlie’s Angels, Skeen Funeral Home of Troy directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 10a.m. until 11:00 a.m. prior to the service. He was born November 12, 1934 in Bullock County, AL. to the late Charlie James Allen, Sr. and Julia Corley Allen. He faithfully served our country in the U.S. Air Force and later worked as a aircraft mechanic at Ft. Rucker, AL. Upon retiring he loved to travel and visit his friends who lived all over the U.S. Mr. Allen had a special love for animals, especially dogs, and he rescued many during his life. Other than his parents he was preceded in death by his son, Chris Corley. He is survived by his wife: Carolyn Allen, Bainbridge, GA; son and daughter-in-law: Jeffery (Sandra) Corley, Bainbridge, GA; granddaughters and their family; Kristie (John) Harrison, Tenley McCarty and Hudson McCarty, all of Bainbridge, GA; Amanda Corley and children; Jaylin Lane and Caleb Corley all of Bainbridge, GA; brothers and sister: Julaulis Allen, Brinson, GA; Jimmy Allen, Ocala, FL; and Betty Jane, Tahiti; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and loving friends.
