Mr. Ewell D. Griswold of Jack, AL passed away Sunday, June 5, 2016 at his residence. He was 82. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday, June 9, 2016 at Victoria Baptist Church with Rev Donnie Marler officiating. Burial will follow in Chestnut Grove Cemetery with Skeen Funeral Home of Troy directing. Visitation will be held from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm Wednesday, June 8, 2016 at Victoria Baptist Church. The family will also receive friends Thursday at the church from 1 pm until service time. Mr. Griswold was born December 7, 1933 in Coffee County, AL to the late Comer and Willie Mae Houston Griswold. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his wife Annette Griswold and an infant brother, John David Griswold. He is survived by his son, Bruce Griswold (Pornpan), daughter, Myra Ellis (Charles); grandchildren, Emily La Plante (Eric), Erin Griswold; Brennan Ellis (Elizabeth), and Blake Ellis; great grandchildren, Andrew, Caitlin, Austin and Aubrey La Plante and Caroline Ellis; sister, Annie Merle Williams (Bobby); numerous special nieces and nephews, and a cherished family friend, Robert Steward. The family is accepting flowers or memorials may be made to the Gideons.
