Mr. Robert B. Owens of Wetumpka, AL (formally of Troy) passed away Thursday, August 25, 2016 at his residence. He was 89. Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Sunday, August 28, 2016 at Lakeview Cemetery, Brundidge, AL. Burial will follow with Skeen Funeral Home of Troy directing. The family will receive friends at their residence at 504 N.W. Main Street, Wetumpka, AL from 4 pm until 6 pm Sunday, August 28, 2016. Mr. Owens was born in Pike County AL to the late Robert L. and Ruth Singleton Owens. He proudly served our country in the US Navy during WWII. In addition to his parents he was also preceded by a son, Robert Boyd Owens, Jr. and a daughter, Betty Jane Owens. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Shirley Watts Owens formerly Evergreen, AL. daughters , Suzanne Walsh, Anchorage, AK, Kim Baker (Jimmy), Eclectic, AL and Cheryll Knowles (Joey), Montgomery, AL; granddaughter Katie Walsh, Anchorage; and a grandson, Dawson Knowles
