Mr. Edsel Edwards of Troy passed away Friday, March 3, 2017 at Troy Regional Medical Center. He was 87. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 6, 2017 at Skeen Funeral Home Chapel in Troy with Pastor Elaine Brown officiating. Burial will follow in Union Hill Cemetery with Skeen Funeral Home of Troy directing. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Sunday, March 5, 2017 at Skeen Funeral Home in Troy. The family will also receive friends Monday at the funeral home from 10:30 until service time. Mr. Edwards was born September 29, 1929 in Troy, AL to the late Jesse Tenion Edwards and Rosie Alice Williams Edwards. He is survived by his son, Charles Edwards (Donna), Troy; a daughter, Judy Price (Tom), Williamsburg, VA; grandsons, James A. Price and Matthew Phillips; granddaughter, Amber Wilkerson (Chris); great granddaughters, Lauren Price, Haley Phillips, Shelby Phillips and Allison Kate Wilkerson; brother, Roscoe Edwards, FL; sister, Helen Berry, Troy; sister-in-law, Geraldine Edwards, Troy; nieces and nephews; and many friends. Serving as active pallbearers will be Timothy Taylor, Jessie Taylor, Jeffery Berry, Donnie Berry, Tommy Peacock and Lavon McVay. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Jimmy Simmons and Jay Edwards. Memorials may be made to Union Hill Cemetery Fund.
