Obituary for Barbara Ann Zornes

Barbara Ann Zornes
Barbara Ann Zornes, aged 68, passed away Tuesday, February 20, 2018. Wife of William "Bill" Zornes of 48 years, and Mother of Steven (wife Shalene) Zornes, she also leaves behind many caring relatives and friends.
Barbara was born in Madison, West Virginia on October 2nd, 1949. She moved to Columbus, West Virgina in her teens, then eventually moved to Jeffrey, West Virginia. She met Bill in the summer of 1969, and they married just a short time later. They then moved to Hazel Park, Michigan and welcomed their son Steven. She volunteered at the school while Steven was young, then took a job as a seamstress with Spitsbergen Interior Design. Later, she and Bill moved south to Brundidge, Alabama. Barbara found a tight knit group of friends working at Grocery Outlet in Ozark, from which she had just recently retired.
Barbara was a gifted seamstress, making items such as clothing, blankets, and window dressings. She also loved to crochet, and made many of her family and friends afghans and throws. She enjoyed crosswords and puzzles of all kinds; and when it came to playing Rummy or Yahtzee she was almost unbeatable. Her cooking was simple and delicious, with recipes quickly famous among her family and friends. She found much joy in listening to and telling stories, and spending quality time with her loved ones. She knew how to make everyone she met feel special, and loved.
Barbara is preceded in death by her mother and father, Reba and Herbert Cook, her sisters Ellen Wolfe, Ruby Rice, and June Stollings, and nephews Michael Stollings and Ronnie Stollings.
Barbara requested a private remembrance by her family and friends. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memories you may wish to share can be sent to InMemoryOfBarb@outlook.com or condolences and cards can be sent to P.O.Box 242, Ariton, Alabama, 36311.
We will miss you, Barb. You will forever be in our hearts.
