Mrs. Bernice V. Brown, a resident of Troy, AL, passed away Wednesday, June 19, 2019 at her residence. She was 70. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, June 24, 2019 at Skeen Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Curtis Faulkner and Dr. Mallone Chandler officiating. Burial will follow at Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery with Skeen Funeral Home of Troy directing. The family will receive friends Monday at the funeral home from 12:00 p.m. until service time. Mrs. Brown was born December 26, 1948 in Troy, AL to the late M.G. Covington and Jimmie Valeta Huggins Covington. She was a strong, unique lady and a master seamstress. She loved life and her children and will be dearly missed. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her ex husband, the father of her children, William Thomas "Billy" Brown and her brother, Dennis Covington. She is survived by her sons: Louis Brown (Tamara) and Kenneth Brown, all of Troy; daughters: Aletha Thomas and Kristie Brown, both of Troy; sister, Dianne Faulkner (Curtis), Troy; step sisters, Barbara Sue Covington and Cindy Covington, both of Winter Haven, FL; grandchildren: Khollon Brown, Aislynn Brown, Alina Brown, and Klay Brown, all of Honoraville, AL, Will Brown and Eva Brown, both of Troy, Madison Thomas, Montgomery and Abbe Edwards, Troy; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
