Gene Sykes of Goshen, AL passed away Wednesday, July 24, 2019 at his residence. He was 76. Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later by Skeen Funeral Home of Troy. He was born November 17, 1942 in Florida to the late Charles Sykes and Eloise Nichols Sykes. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie Holland. He is survived by his sons: Tim Wilson (Liz), Goshen, Marion Eugene "Little Gene" Sykes (Gail), Brantley, AL and Thomas Eugene "Tom" Sykes (Cassie), Tallahassee, FL; brothers and sisters; Jerry Sykes, Emmett Sykes and Betty Quick, and 9 grandchildren. He served our country in the U.S. Air Force for 20 years retiring as a Master Sergeant. He was a gentleman farmer, a very positive man, a loving person to everyone and always had a kind word.
