David Earl Smith of Troy, AL, passed away Sunday, September 8, 2019, at his residence. He was 65. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 13, 2019, at Green Hills Memorial Park Cemetery with Reverend Tim Bates officiating. Burial will follow with Skeen Funeral Home of Troy directing. The family has requested a visitation prior to the service and will receive friends at 9:30 a.m. Friday, September 13, 2019, in the chapel of Skeen Funeral Home. David was born October 21, 1953, in France to the late Henry Hershel Smith and Hildred Blanton Smith. David moved to the United States upon his parents military deployment and graduated from Pike County High School. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brothers, Neil Blanton Smith and Jon Lance Smith. He is survived by his children, Shannon Smith Reaves (Fletcher) and Christopher Smith (Ashley); sister, Rosalyn Smith Baughn, and grand children: Tanah Reaves, Amber Reaves, Alyssa Reaves, and Jaxon Reid Brewer.
