Mrs. Voncile McDonald Childs of Brundidge, AL passed away Monday, May 25, 2020, in Dothan, AL. She was 87. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, May 28, 2020, at Skeen Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Chad Manion officiating. Burial will follow in Williams Memorial Presbyterian Cemetery with Skeen Funeral Home of Troy directing. The family will receive friends the funeral home Thursday from 12:30 p.m. until service time. She was born August 3, 1932, in Coffee County, AL to the late Charlie and Beulah Beggs McDonald. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her son Johnny Childs, husband Jack Childs and John W. Childs, brothers Robert McDonald and Jr. McDonald, twin sister and her husband Lucille and Cecil Graham, and a baby sister Linda Jones. She is survived by her children: Jack Childs (Jan), Luverne, AL, Doris Parrish (Orell), Brundidge, AL, Jimmy Griffin (Randy), Dothan, AL, Sheila Opachich (Herb), Panama City, FL and Terry Ray Childs (Tasha), Brundidge; grandchildren: Brian Childs, Kaylee Davis, Austin Smith, Brandon Kennamore, Brandy Kennamore, Leslie Budner, Nancy Hicks, Amanda Childs, Johnathan Childs, Nicole Childs, Jamie Parrish, Katie Parrish, Ashley Coleman, Angela Butler, Chris Childs, Andy Childs and Lisa Wilson (Peter); several great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Joyce McDonald, Brundidge, AL; several nieces and nephews; a special friend, Marty Viohl. Serving as pallbearers will be Brian Childs, Johnathan Childs, Jared Parrish, Junior Parrish, Zack Beck, Brandon Kennamore, Serving as honorary pallbearer will be Austin Smith.
