Mr. George Malon Johnson of Goshen, AL, passed away Sunday, July 26, 2020, at his residence in Goshen. He was 84. Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 30, 2020, at Elam Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery with Pastor Davis Martin officiating. Burial will follow in Elam Primitive Baptist Cemetery with Skeen Funeral Home directing. He was born Monday, February 24, 1936, in Pike County, AL, to the late Aubrey Cecil Johnson and Lillian Folmar Johnson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Aubrey Johnson. George Malon Johnson was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend whose contagious laugh conveyed his wonderful sense of humor. He was a man who worked hard, loved people, and didn’t meet a stranger. His work took him to many places around the world but his heart and home was in Goshen, Alabama. He will be greatly missed for he was greatly loved. He is survived by his loving wife, Sara Johnson, Goshen, AL; son, Jeff (Cynthia) Johnson, Helena, AL; grandson, Jonathan (Katherin) Johnson, Alabaster, AL; brothers-in-law, Jimmy Wayne McLeod, Prattville, AL, and Gene McLeod, St. Louis, MO. Pallbearers will be: Jeff Johnson, Jonathan Johnson, Jimmy Wayne McLeod, Robert Babanats, Jim Shaver, and Raymon Stroud. Due to the state of Alabama's recently updated restrictions involving the COVID-19 pandemic, masks will be required and social distancing rules will be in effect.
