Obituary for George Edwin Robinson

Mr. George Edwin Robinson, age 78 of Troy, went home to his Heavenly Father on Tuesday, December 22, 2020. He was preceded in homecoming by his wife Roxie and his sister Norma Jean Ervin. He is survived by the mother of his children, Dale Robinson; two sons, Eric (Jaye) Robinson and Paul (Grace) Robinson; a daughter, Kate Robinson; a step-daughter, Teresa (Wayne) Cobb; four grandchildren, Chase, Anna, Helen, and Christopher Robinson, and two step-grandchildren, Matthew (Tiffany) Baker and Rachel (Wes) Heil; two nephews Gerald “Jerry” Sapp and George “John” Ervin, and a niece, Melanie Russell.
He was a faithful and active member of Hephzibah Baptist Church in Troy as well as a member of The Gideons International. While on this earth, he exemplified the love of his Savior, Jesus Christ. Always “blessed and highly favored”, he was willing to extend a hand to those in need, often offering the shirt off his own back. He was always there to give advice, a hug, a warm smile, a listening ear, or a shoulder on which to lean or cry. His laugh was infectious, and the twinkle in his eye was undeniable, especially when telling others about his Lord. He loved God, his family, his friends, and his church family. And, as he would say, while we know he loved us, dearly, JESUS loves us more!
The family will have a private, graveside service on Wednesday, December 23, at Hephzibah Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev, Rick Hayes officiating. Burial will follow in Hephzibah Baptist Church Cemetery with Skeen Funeral Home of Troy directing. A memorial service will be held at a future date/time TBD. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his honor to Hephzibah Baptist Church – 2701 Henderson Hwy, Troy, AL 36079 or by visiting www.hbctroy.com online.
