Steve Dewayne Roper of Goshen, AL passed away Monday, December 28, 2020, at Troy Regional Medical Center. He was 69. Graveside services for Steve Roper will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 30, 2020, at Good Hope Cemetery in Covington County, AL with Pastor Marlon Brown officiating. Burial will follow with Skeen Funeral Home of Troy directing. The family will receive friends Wednesday at the funeral home from 12:30 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. Social distancing guidelines and masks and will be observed. He was born July 19, 1951 to the late Merlin Vernell Roper and Gola Mae Elmore Roper. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his grandparents, Nesbit and J.T. Elmore, and a grandchild, Micaela Lee. He is survived by his children, Eric Roper (Tamie), Goshen, Donna Lee (Chris), Goshen, and Brandy Roper, Brundidge; 10 grandchildren; 2 sisters, Melba Grant and Linda Thompson, both of Niceville, FL. The family wants to give a special thanks to Compassus Hospice of Troy.
