Obituary for Betty Langley

Mrs. Betty Langley a resident of Jack, AL, passed away Tuesday, June 8, 2021, at Flowers Hospital in Dothan, AL. She was 65. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, June 11, 2021, at New Life Church of Perdue with Chaplin Adam Carlee officiating. Burial will follow in Perdue Assembly of God Cemetery with Skeen Funeral Home of Troy directing. The family will receive friends Friday at the church from 12:00 p.m. until time of service.

Mrs. Betty was born 1955 in Geneva, New York, with a free spirit and a wild heart. She worked at Wiregrass construction for 28 consecutive years. Her loyalty was evident in her work and her marriage. She was a loving wife to her husband, Gary, whom she traveled many of miles together with on the 18 wheeler despite her ability to drive the truck as well questionably better than him. They shared a passion for Harley motorcycles traveling on their trike whenever the opportunity came. She enjoyed dancing around the fire, visiting the beach, and cleaning fresh fish she caught for her family. Betty's enjoyments exemplified her traits she will mostly be remembered by: a provider, a teacher, a selfless woman, and a kind heart.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gary “Swamp Stomper” Langley; father, Tim Langley; mother, Erlene Langley; brother, Mike Langley; brother-in-law, Hughey Stephens Sr.; nephew, Douglas Flowers; niece, Sandy Stephens, and a bonus grandson, Briar Smith.

Mrs. Langley is survived by three daughters who she considered her world: Pam Beck (Lester) of Montgomery, Alabama, Cindy Barajas (Fernando) of Tracy, California, and Jamie Langley (Todd) of Jack, Alabama; nine grandchildren who she loved immensely: Chris Beck, Lucas Beck, Tanah Reaves, Taylor Dennis, Mackenzie Ballard, Adyson Price, Garrett Lanham, Ella Grace Schaid, and Chloe Lanham. Seven great-grandchildren: Lily Beck, Emily Beck, Greyson Newman, Kit Brunson, Caliber Dennis, Elijah Ballard, and Briar Lanham; three sisters, Sandra Stephens, Rhonda Langley, and Helen Trent; three nieces, Angie Suddith, Jenny Adkins, and Stephani Trent; a nephew, Hughey Stephens Jr. (C.J.); a son Steve Satterwhite, his son, Mason Satterwhite, and his daughter, Emily Satterwhite; three puppies Harley Pearl, Polly Ann, and Dixie Mae.

Serving as pallbearers will be her biker family.
