Obituary for Rachel Lyn Meredith (Castleburry)
Rachel Lyn Castleberry Meredith, age 57, of Monticello, AL, passed away suddenly Tuesday, April 12th at her residence. Funeral services for Rachel Lyn Castleberry Meredith will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, April 15, 2022, at Skeen Funeral Home chapel with Rev. Jim Powell officiating. Burial will immediately follow at Sandfield Cemetery Skeen Funeral Home directing. Mrs. Meredith will lie-in-state for one hour prior the service from 9:00 a.m. until service time. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Mrs. Meredith was preceded in death by her father, John Richard Castleberry, and her grandparents: Sam Byrd “Bo” Reeves, Flora Sharpe Reeves, Richard Stevens Castleberry, and Inez Mason Castleberry. She is survived by her husband, Mike Meredith; her mother, Sharon Reeves Castleberry; her four children: Maggie, Kathyn Claflin (Garrett), Will, and John Mathew; two brothers, Steve Castleberry (Diane) and Noah Castleberry (Courtney); many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
She was an avid reader with many hobbies. She was described by friends and family as the sweetest person they had ever met. She worked with the Department of Transportation for many years producing many friendships with her colleagues. Mrs. Meredith will be greatly missed leaving a noticeable gap that will be difficult to fill.
