Our Story

In 1988, Howell and Jean Skeen, Anthony Skeen and Phil Skeen had a vision to open a funeral home to provide those "added" services to a funeral to make it more meaningful and personal. Today that still holds true. Skeen Funeral Home listens to the needs and wants of the family and gives them a funeral that is meaningful to them. Skeen Funeral Home still continues to serve the the entire Pike County community and surrounding communities with the same commitment to families. We offer a broad range of personalized services that will help families plan a special funeral for their loved one. We pride ourselves in the support and commitment we have extended to families throughout the Pike County area. Our Chapel and Funeral Home provide a beautiful atmosphere that honors all families and their wishes.

Our Mission

Our goal at Skeen Funeral Homes is to provide to each family who places their trust in us a professional personalized service tailored specifically to your family’s wants, needs and wishes.  Our family strives to lessen the stress and  pain during this very difficult process by personally assisting you with the necessary burdens and responsibilities of planning your loved ones service down to the smallest detail. We offer every family we serve comfort, care, compassion and sympathy helping families work through the grief process and begin the healing necessary to move forward. Our motto “When the service is over, the caring is not” is not just words but our daily goal as we serve the families who confide and place their trust in Skeen Funeral Homes and the Skeen family.
