Mrs. Sara Sanders a resident of Troy passed away Saturday, January 27, 2018 at her residence. She was 72. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 30, 2018 at Skeen Funeral Home Chapel in Troy with Rev. Jimmy Eddins officiating and eulogy by Harvey Starling. . Burial will follow in Lakeview Cemetery, Brundidge, AL with Skeen Funeral Home of Troy directing. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Monday, January 29, 2017 at Skeen Funeral Home in Troy. The family will also receive friends Tuesday at the funeral home from 11:00 a.m. until service time. Mrs. Sanders was born March 26, 1945 in Montgomery, AL to the late James Starling and Grace Berry Starling. She lived most of her life in Troy; however, she traveled across most of the United States. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her brothers, Bud and Bobby. She is survived by her husband, James Sanders, Troy; daughter, Melanie Carr, El Paso, TX; sons, Jamey Sanders, Brundidge and Jeffrey Sanders, Wetumpka; grandchildren, Joshua Carr and Jonathan Carr, both of El Paso, TX; great grandchildren, Amari Carr, Sofia Carr, Olivia Carr and Keliani Carr all of El Paso. Serving as pallbearers will be Harvey Starling, Robby Starling, Jimmy Starling, Tony Starling Brad Porterfield, James Marshall Harrelson and Justin Porterfield.
